Try laminating the cards so they will last longer. My boys love counting out coins and money. To make it a challenge ask them to pay with the least amount of coins or paper possible. This can be a daily or weekly game to keep things interesting. Try to match items in your home to make things more realistic. This is a great time to open up a discussion of how much items really cost, how things have changed over the years, and how they will continue to change. Challenge your child by giving them only a certain amount of coins or paper money and allowing them to “purchase” only what they can afford. Or perhaps they purchase the entire “store”.  How much money would they need to do this? The options are endless, and no doubt your child will come up with their own unique ways to play! Not only will you have tons of fun with your child, they just may learn something along the way!
