Usually I write about all things homeschooling, teaching your child to read and just generally how to be awesome. But today, I am going to teach you how to be awesome at making the best air fryer grilled cheese! To be honest, I can’t even take credit for this recipe. No I didn’t steal it from another blogger. My husband is the star of this recipe, as he is the one who created it. But, hey, I am the one with the blog here, so I am going to delight your tastebuds today!
Why Use The Air Fryer to Make Grilled Cheese?
The real question should be “Why not?”. I will admit we were probably the last family to jump on the Air Fryer bandwagon, but once we did, I am telling you I do not wish to ever hit a bump in the road and all off that wagon! Thankfully the cheese from this amazing air fryer grilled cheese will keep us clinging on for a while!
The air fryer allows you to keep your home cool, unlike using the stove-top. Especially, if like me, you have a gas stove. Achieve perfect crispiness with the air fryer, in just ten minutes or less. Plus for me, there is less clean-up! Simply lay down some parchment paper on the bottom of the air fryer, and viola, no mess on the bottom of the pan to clean up later!
Which Air Fryer Should I Use?
We love our Crux brand Air Fryer! We got it at a discount store, unfortunately it seems to be unavailable on Amazon right now. However, here are some top recommendations for ya!
The Star of This Air-Fryer Recipe
To be honest, there are several stars of the show here, but the avocado may outshine them all. The key here? Using them in the 15 minute time frame that these green beauties allow before becoming brown beauties. *Sigh* I read recently though if you keep your avocados in the fridge, they will stay at peak ripeness for weeks! I have yet to try this, but if you have had success let me know!
Runners Up
This recipe also uses mushrooms, (my husbands favorite, and it just so happens to be the secret ingredient!) Colby jack cheese, and turkey…Okay, we may be crossing over into Panini territory…Oops. I once tried bacon grease instead of butter to get maximum crispiness. You can’t go wrong either way!
