Don’t wait to get your hands on these adorable -ot Word Family Worksheets! Engage your child in learning to read with 6 worksheets and a decodable reader.
When I was teaching my boys to read, I found it difficult to find simple CVC-based books with few sight words. So, I created some of my own resources to lighten the load and I want to share them with you!
Here are some tips to help you use these and other resources to help your child learn to read:
Introduce the word family- Explain that these words all have the same ending sound and share a common pattern.
Practice Pronunciation- help your child practice saying and hearing the words in the same word family. Encourage them to listen carefully to the ending sound and emphasize its similarity to each word.
Identify rhyming words- show your child different pictures representing the -ot word family. Ask them to match the pictures that rhyme in the same word family.
Build words- use these worksheets to engage children in hands-on activities to build words in the -ot word family. This will help your child develop phonics skills and word blending.
Reading and writing- encourage your child to read sentences containing -ot word family words.
Play games- make learning fun with interactive games. Play rhyming word memory games, bingo, or matching activities.
What is Included in the -ot Word Family Worksheets

Follow these extra tips when teaching your child to read when using any program:

- Day 2- next, read the word and have your child repeat after you while following along
- Day 3- Then, do an “Echo” reading- you and your child read the story at the same time
