-AN Family Worksheets and Decodable Reader
I am so happy to share with you the latest edition of my decodable readers with this -AN Family Worksheet. This Preschool Reading Activity will have your child enjoying reading in no time. My older son struggled to enjoy reading at a young age. I wish I would have had something easy such as this to help him along! It was so difficult for me to find something to read that wasn’t too overwhelming, had decodable CVC words, and did not have too many sight words. Have you found this to be a struggle too? If so I am so happy you came across this Preschool Reading Activity!
What is Included in This Preschool Reading Activity?
- 6 worksheets to teach CVC words and the short A letter sound
- Easy Decodable Reader
- Comprehension Questions
The worksheets are designed to build anticipation and reading ability for the decodable reader. Depending on how you plan your homeschool week out, this could be more than a week’s worth of activities! By the time your child is done with the worksheets they will have the confidence to read the book, how excited they will be! Comprehension questions are designed to engage your child in the story and make real-world connections. With these Preschool Reading Activities learning will be fun, easy, and simple. Make it a point to read the story over and over, possibly talking about different things every time.
Laminating the pages can also be helpful. Use Expo markers, letter tiles, or whatever you wish to make learning fun!
Sight words are used very sparingly, as sight words do not need to be a main focus after your child has learned all of their alphabet sounds. CVC or consonant, vowel consonant words should be the focus. I sure hope you enjoy this Preschool Reading Activity as much as I enjoyed making it for you! Remember to keep things simple, relax, and have fun!
