Any time you are working with a child who is learning to read use these methods to help them build confidence:

• Day 1-First, read the level appropriate story to your child (something that they could reasonable read on their own)
• Day 2-Next, you read the word, and they repeat the word while following along in the same story as day 1.
• Day 3-Then, you read the story while they are also reading it in a sort of “echo reading”
• Day 4-Finally, allow them the chance to read the story independently. Do not worry if they cannot read the story yet, keep practicing!
