Your child will be delighted to learn alongside you with these short /i/ family worksheets. Let the fun begin with “Pig”!
Description
Are you ready to move your little learner onto the short I-word family? If so these short I family worksheets will be perfect for your reader! When I was teaching my boys to read I was shocked at how hard it was to find decodable readers that used CVC words that had few sight words. I wanted to build confidence in reading, while also giving them something that would not overwhelm them. However, after my failed efforts to find them something that I could use in my local library or online, I created these adorable short /i/ family worksheets!
Here Is What Is Included in the Short /i/ Family Worksheets
- 7 total pages
- 1 comprehension questions sheet to use with the reading
- 5 worksheets to practice CVC words and simple sight words
- decodable reader “The Pig”
Use them over and over again when you laminate them! If you are working with a new reader and want to build confidence try these suggestions:
- Day 1- First, overview of the CVC words and the letter sounds
- Day 2- Second, read the story with your child and do one worksheet
- Day 3- Third, you read the story or word and your child repeats the word after you
- Day 4- Finally, have your child try out their newfound skills!
- Then see if they are able to read the story themselves.
